INK Factory Brewing Ad Campaign: "Brews & Boards" Skate Event

Project Overview

For my Advertising Design class, I developed a campaign for Brews and Boards, a skate event hosted by Ink Factory Brewing in Jacksonville Beach.

Brews and Boards is a community-driven event campaign designed to bring together skateboarders and craft beer enthusiasts for a day of skating, live music, and local brews. The campaign was created to promote a local brewery’s involvement in the skateboarding scene, fostering a sense of camaraderie and creative expression. The goal was to design an engaging visual identity that captures the energy of both skate culture and craft beer while appealing to a broad audience of skaters and community members.

Process

I started by researching existing skate and brewery collaborations to understand the aesthetic and branding approaches commonly used. From there, I developed a bold and dynamic visual identity inspired by vintage skate graphics and the gritty textures of urban skateparks. The deliverables included:

  • Event Poster: A high-impact poster featuring hand-drawn elements, vibrant colors, and a layout reminiscent of old-school skate zines.

  • Merchandise: Limited-edition T-shirts and stickers designed to be collectible and reinforce brand engagement.

  • Social Media Assets: Digital promotional materials optimized for Instagram and event pages to build excitement leading up to the event.

  • Competition wristbands/prizes

Outcome

The Brews and Boards campaign successfully blended the raw, rebellious energy of skate culture with the laid-back, social vibe of craft beer events. The visuals resonated with the target audience, creating excitement and anticipation. The campaign’s cohesive branding strategy ensured strong engagement across multiple touchpoints, demonstrating the power of design in community event marketing.
